RELATIONSHIPS

 
Relationship - just a heavy big word or does it have any meaning?
Is it like a piece of jewellery, worn & flashed around to impress society…
When will people realise
Its’ not to be used only when needed, other times tucked out of the way?
When will they understand what it implies, or its need to be sustained day after day?
 
You don’t get to choose any of them, destiny chooses them for you.
An old karmic connection some say which may or may not be true!
Countless are the times
You’ve murdered them unknowingly and ended up in the gallows!
Oh Lord, why can’t they come with a written manual for you to follow??
 
No way is any relationship perfect by any stretch of imagination;
In fact, it’s a guarantee… most are dysfunctional n dyslexic by definition!!
Isn’t that the truth?
But there’s something that makes them special in spite of this… Howww?
Is it the shared DNA, the bonding friendship or the marriage vows?
The understanding silence, the knowing smile or the tears of hurt n laughter…
I wish one could explain and save many the pain which often follows after.
 
There are a few who you sometimes have to leave you midway;
They shared only half your journey and then moved away.
We all have lost someone
Whether a sibling, a parent, a neighbour or a good friend
There are no guarantees they will be with you till the very end.
 
As you can’t exchange them, nor can they be returned with thanks
So why not make the best play of the hand you’ve been dealt?
Sometimes it seems difficult to
Think with your mind but the actions must come from the heart
That’s the only way to see this through without falling apart.
 
They are all in your life for they had a purpose to fulfil,
Smile as you bless and thank them for their presence.
Unknown to you
Each of them has contributed to making you what you are today,
This is something you cannot buy, no matter what you pay.
